Wat A Weekend!

My com is really launching a war against Blogspot and I have no choice now but to blog only on weekdays, and in school! This SUCKS!

Not to divert away, the past weekend was one of the more superb ones I've ever had since stepping into Medicine. What is better than starting the Saturday morning at 4am to study for the Formative Assessment(FA), reject a free car ride to school for the test, only to pay for a taxi instead after taking the wrong bus and nearly ended up being late! Woo hoo! Luckily the FA was better done than the previous time or I'll just feel like a piece of rotten shit.

After the FA, it was another mad rush down to Amara Hotel for the Work & Travel in USA Interview! Yes, another taxi down and some more $$ wasted. Was hoping to see Denise there, only to hear the poor girl's interview form was not processed. Shit them! How could they split this pair of 'brother & sister' up? Grr!!! The interview was not really an interview afterall. It was more for the US employers to sit down and chat around to find pple to fill up job spaces. I did not get my 1st choice of Yellowstone National Park because the Q was so darn long (my num was 83!!) and they admit only 4 candidates at any time. How to wait when Playhouse was in the afternoon?!?! Instead, I decided to get the shortest Q and managed to secure an employment as a hotel staff to Grand Canyon for 3 mths next year! YEAH!! To all friends out there: COME TO GRAND CANYON NEXT HOLIDAYS AND I'LL BE THERE TO SERVE YOU!! COME COME!!

Again, it was another mad taxi rush back to school for Playhouse (intra-fac drama comp). I was the producer for our M1 play, but was so paiseh to be nearly late again for the production. I'm so thankful that I had a good crew and actors to 'hold the force' coz I did not not what the hell I was doing. Anyway, the play went on well and it was indeed very heart-warming to see our play come alive on stage after a mth of prep and to see it finally come to an end (so that I can study again). Everything just went on so well that we even collected 2 trophys - Best Supporting Actress (Nat Koh) and Best Props! Well done guys, so proud of you! To those who did not go or stay on to watch, you've really missed out a lot because the M3, M4 and M5 plays were really really grreat to watch! Oh yeah, not to mention, the after play makan session at Kevin's house was superb!! 5 stars and a kow-tow to him! Great food, great house, great brother (for entertainment) and great movie! I was really in heaven that night! Thanks Kevin!

And yes, last night was the 1st night I went out this year to a coffeeshop to watch a soccer match - Man U Vs Arsenal. Was out with Huren at our common coffeeshop with so many uncles around smoking and drinking and shouting. Sorry Huren, but Arsenal really sucked yesterday and fired too many blanks through the night. Kudos to Man U for throwing everything they had. Thought they really deserved the scoreline. But hey, watch out u 2 teams! Liverpool will be back to haunt and fire you down! Haha! I had an irritating time at home after that trying to wash off the cigarette smell on me, in case my parents were wondering what I was doing outside. Maybe I'll have to think twice about going again the next time....

What a weekend it truely was! Loved it much and till then, I'm back again to my books for another FA this week... g-o-s-h...

Library Blog

MC said "Hi!"

Yes, that was what my good buddy from Army and Medicine 'ordered' me to write after giving me a quick & healthy 'how to blog your blog' lecture. Grr... Satisfied now 'Lam-Lam'?

Yup, I'm finally back after 1-2 weeks. My stupid computer apparently decided not to adopt Blogspot.Com in its IE after 5 blog entries. The same thing happened too when I was using Xanga so I'm starting to wonder whether I'm fated to actually blog in the first place. Never mind about that. At least I still have the computers in NUS Med Lib to sustain that little Blog interest around.

Just had a chat with my previous unit MO, Dr Yeo, in the library. Poor chap, he got arrowed big time to do the Military Medicine Conference (MMC) paper for next year. Well, just to elaborate further, the MMC paper is pretty much useless except for explainning to overseas military 'collegues' the different ways Singapore military has 'invented or improvised to improve its millitary healthcare'. A conference of bullshit? I leave it to your thoughts... But well, since he was around, I got him to help me do my Physiology tutorial. Hee hee. So nice of him to help me and give me answers to my tutorial. Just what I needed to boost my morale up to study for the rest of the day!

So many things had happened over the past week. 2 beer & wine drinking sessions with adults till late night, a cool birthday party over the weekend, hefty lectures & tutorials (which I've still not done yet) and oh yes, an intra-fac drama competition titled 'Playhouse', our dear Formative Assessment on Biochemistry and an interview for 'Work & Travel USA' all on this coming Saturday. How good can life get?!?! I don't even have time for myself man...oh gosh!

If you find me not wearing my spectacles these few days and think I'm trying to act cool, I beg to differ. I lost my spectacles over the week and I shan't elaborate on details so that I won't 'cry' over it. Yeah, will be in contacts for a few more days or even weeks I guess until I can find $$ to get a new pair. $$ does not come easy. Seriously!

Gotta run to mug again. Never been so hardworking before, even my mum is surprised, though happy about it. Biochem...Here I come!

Y is Y Y?

Nobody wants to talk to me... So I shan't talk to anybody... I think I rather seek solace from my books now... *boo hoo hoo*

That's the stuff we did @ airport Posted by Hello

@ The Airport

Just back from supper in Geylang with pri sch friends. Yum yum! I had beef hor fan with smooth bean curd while the rest ordered 'shao bings' and 'mee sua'. Oh man, it's just so fun to meet up and hear the wierd pri sch crap again from you guys! But I've got to admit that it's your off day in cracking jokes today, Medha! 'I'm @ Terminal 2. Really?!?! I'm @ Terminal too(2)!' Er, it wasn't really that funny... Haha, and Gerrie gotta brush up her Cheena or else you will end up buying 'Shao Bing + Ji Dan + Pork Floss(y the sudden English?!)' from the shop all your life... :P

Wait, y did we meet up all of a sudden? Oh yes, it was to send our dear Class Monitor, LTA Jason Wong, off to his York University. Finally, yes finally, you are off to study, to settle down into a more peaceful place outside of Army. It was with a tinge of unwillingness that we saw you leave, but I'm very sure, you will do us proud there in England, in academics and whatever you do there. All the best pal!! We'll be waiting for you to come back 7-9 mths down the road...

Cool things I've found when sending off friends:
------------------------------------------------
1. A free ride from friend - Thanks Andy for being my offical driver of the day! Been great travelling in your merc!

2. Get to meet your new Medicine classmates - Yes! I've found Jean, my 'dearest BEST friend', and Shi Hui, my cute pri sch junior in the Airport. They were sending a friend off on the same flight as my friend to the same uni. How small can the world be? And haha, I found Goodwin in Geylang too! No wrong ideas ah, he was there to 'makan' in the same shop as me. My my....!!!

3. Rekindle memories - This never fails when my pri sch friends meet up! Everytime, I am amazed to find out something new that some kid did in sch last time to anger/irritate/piss off another person. And it's always so laughable, like how Woon Han got pinned by Andy, or how Lihao ran away after tripping Andy.

4. Photo taking session - Gosh, Medha's favourite past-time. She's totally different when it comes to photos, all the funny poses that she has, it's absolutely amazing! Oh yeah, the dumb things we do when taking photos, like squeezing into the camera screen with someone in the pic holding the camera and taking a picture of our legs in a circle! Yes, we were deabting, and I was wondering what would happen when we meet up in future when we settle down with families? Would we still be as insane or would our kids feel ashame of us? haha!

Yeah... It's 3am in the morn and thanks Gerrie for the pics... Appreciate that so much! Let's see what I can do...

Here I am on my com again. At long last, I'm able to get into Blogspot to register my 1st post!!! Is that worth a celebration?? Will ponder about that later.

Lazy saturday afternoon it is. Right outside, in the heart of Bishan Park, my Frisbee kakis are all having fun and drunk from a beer challenge. It's so damn cool to see the disc flying around the park from my view in my house! So what the hell am I doing here @ home!!!! Sigh, the calling of the books was greater than the 'evils' of the flying disc. Yes, it's actually true that it's coming from someone who calls himself the slacker. So don't you think striking 4D/TOTO today would be an icing on the cake? Oh crap!!

Today I've chalked up another 3 hrs of Badminton in PGP. Once again, it was Singapore VS China in the courts. Nope, not your normal badminton matches, but it was James, Ben Khoo, Jai and me (Singaporeans) fighting against the rest (Cheenas) for the rights of badminton courts. Glad that we managed to hung on, persevere and prevented them from invading into our courts for training.. Haha!! :P Back to the game. James and Ben, you guys are improving, but you better work on your footwork or I'll bulldoze my way through the games and train myself instead. Today you guys but... I"ll Be Back!

Let me reinterate this: ARTS FAC CANTEEN IS THE BEST!! Y? Not only are the food cheap and good, they are still serving great food even until after 2pm! That's so unlike the Science Canteen, which have stingy servings and bad operation hours. View is great, food is great, what else can you ask for a good afternoon lunch? Thanks to James, I've found another good food stall. To all foodlovers, pls pls try the Beef Noodles! Absolutely sumptous with hefty beefy toppings!! Thumbs up all the way with no fingers down! But but, to enjoy the noodles, pls do not eat the way health-conscious James did, by taking away all the chilli oil to reduce his intake of fats and oil... What a terrible way of wasting earth's natural god-given resouces!!

Enough of crap... Gotta rumage through the pile of papers now... Gosh, don't they look scary!!
